Republicans Move To Stealthily Steal Electoral Votes In CA

If every state allocated electoral votes on a pro rata basis, the Electoral College would become unnecessary. Personally, I think that's a good thing. Some states already do this and Maryland recently decided that all their electoral votes would go to the winner of the national popular vote, regardless of how the citizens voted. Change is needed.

Iraq’s Medical Meltdown (The difference between now and the Vietnam War)

“The Bush Administration violated every single tenet that has been known in humanitarian circles for decades,” says Dr. Frederick Burkle. Traditionally, responsibility for humanitarian efforts has fallen to USAID, as in Vietnam. But in a move Burkle calls “unprecedented,” Bush transferred that authority to the DoD, the guys who blow people up!

Pot Ups Risk for Mental Illness By Miniscule Amount

I hate when they use % increase in risk without the underlying numbers. For example, if your chance of psychosis is 1 in 10,000, the 41% increase in risk the article quotes would make it 1.41 in 10,000. I'd call that statistically insignificant.

Was Pat Tillman Deliberately Killed?!

""The medical evidence did not match up with the scenario as described," a doctor who examined Tillman said. No evidence at all of enemy fire was found at the scene - no one was hit by enemy fire, nor was any government equipment struck. Army attorneys sent each other congratulatory e-mails for keeping criminal investigators at bay as the Army conducted an internal friendly-fire investigation that resulted in administrative, or non-criminal, punishments." (excerpts from AP article)

So the question is, was it a personal spat with a fellow soldier or something more sinister? Pat Tillman was reported to be disillusioned with the war and was possibly planning on speaking out.

Old-line Republican warns 'something's in the works' to trigger a police state

Thom Hartmann began his program by reading from a new Executive Order which allows the government to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies. He then introduced Paul Craig Roberts by quoting: "Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."

Proof Bin Laden Tape Is 5-Year-Old, Re-Released Footage

A videotape that was heralded as "new" footage of Osama bin Laden by many quarters of the press has been conclusively proven to be more than 5 year old re-released footage, leading to questions about why the government and the media continue to act as willing propagandists for the terrorists while striking fear into Americans by claiming an attack is imminent.

Iraq War Vets Talk About Randon Civilian Killings

US Military Operations in Diyala Bring Normal Life to End-Fuel Resistance

"The forces shelled these neighbourhoods with helicopters, destroying more than 150 houses and killing more than 350 citizens. Their bodies are still under the wreckage. And they have arrested scores of citizens." The U.S. military does not keep count of the number of civilian casualties caused by their operations. Animosity towards US rising.

"Of course, it was better under Sadaam!" - Iraqi Author Sinan Antoon

To back up his opinion he compares electrical and water service then and now, and says there was at least order before, now there is only chaos. He goes on to say that everything that was good about Iraq was destroyed by the war, everything that was bad was made worse. 10 years ago, Iraqis didn't think of themselves as Shia or Sunni or Kurd. Many are of mixed heritage. It's not America's job to decide whether Iraq will be 3 states or one. The occupation is the biggest problem Iraq has now.
